One of the most high demand and credible certification available is the PMP® (Project Management Professional) certification. The Project Management Professional (PMP) is the project management credential of choice for numerous industries and companies.  By attaining the PMP credential, your name will be included in the largest and most prestigious group of credentialed professionals in the project management community. It is highly recommended that you become PMI member prior to signing up to take the test. The membership fee is $129 and application can be submitted online at www.pmi.org. If you are a PMI member, the exam fee is $405, for non-members, the exam fee is $555. Becoming a PMI member will not cost you anything, and you will gain PMI membership privileges.

Membership in PMI provides many opportunities to advance your project management knowledge and skills. Many have leveraged their PMI membership and certification to advance professional and career objectives.

Application Audit
PMI states that all eligible applications are subject for audit. Upon successful completion of the audit, candidates will be able to sit for the PMP examination. Submission of an application indicates agreement to comply with audit terms. Candidates who are selected for audit will receive an e-mail notification from PMI with detailed information on how to comply with the terms of the audit. During an audit, candidates will be asked to submit supporting documentation, such as copies of their diploma/global equivalent, signatures of their supervisor(s) or manager(s) from the project(s) documented on the Experience Verification Forms, or a certificate or letter from the training institute(s) for each course submitted to meet the 35 contact hours of project management education. PMI retains a non-refundable application-processing fee for all PMP credential applications.

At the time of application, the candidate holds a baccalaureate or equivalent university degree

r Minimum of 4500 hours of project management experience covering the 5 process groups.

r The project dates must indicate that the candidate has at least 3 years of project management experience within the last 6 years and has at least 36 continuous calendar months of project management experience.

Two

At the time of application, the candidate does not hold a baccalaureate or equivalent university degree but holds a high school diploma or equivalent secondary school credential

35 conduct hours

r Minimum of 7,500 hours of project management experience covering the 5 process groups.

r The project dates must indicate that the candidate has at least 5 years of project management experience within the last 8 years and has at least sixty 60 continuous months of project management experience.
